AlUla is an open-air museum under the sky — from Hegra's Nabataean tombs to Elephant Rock, Maraya, and the old town — compressing thousands of years of settlement in northwest Arabia.

A natural sandstone formation about 52 meters tall, wind-eroded into the shape of an elephant with its trunk touching the ground — one of AlUla's most-visited, easily accessible sunset spots.
A large mountain nature reserve running a long-term conservation program to reintroduce threatened wildlife such as the Arabian oryx and Arabian leopard, with marked wildlife-viewing and hiking trails.
A towering rock mass cut by a narrow gorge (the Siq) leading to a chamber known as the Diwan, thought to have been used for Nabataean gatherings or rites — a striking walk between high cliffs.
Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site (2008), with over 100 rock-cut Nabataean tombs including the famous Qasr Al-Farid; visits are only via guided tours run by the Royal Commission for AlUla.

A walled mudbrick town inhabited by AlUla's residents until the mid-20th century, with around 900 closely packed houses and narrow lanes; partly restored and now open with craft shops and cafés.
Capital of the ancient Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms, one of the most important archaeological sites in northwest Arabia, with rock-cut tomb facades and inscriptions over 2,000 years old.
A raised mudbrick fort overlooking AlUla's old town and palm oasis, named after the Umayyad commander Musa bin Nusayr; its summit gives a panoramic view over the oasis.
