Tanumah
A mountain governorate on the edge of the Sarawat range, known for dense juniper and pine cover, frequent fog on its peaks, and one of Saudi Arabia's few semi-permanent waterfalls — a way to experience Aseer's original mountain climate away from Abha's crowds.

Rijal Almaa Heritage Village
A stone village over 900 years old west of Abha, with around 60 multi-storey buildings of stone, clay, and wood. Its museum inside the Al-Alwan Fortress holds more than 2,000 artefacts, making it one of Aseer's best-documented heritage villages.

Sha'ar Castle
An Ottoman-era fortress built in 1872 on a plateau 2,400-2,800 metres high north of Abha, made up of adjoining stone buildings and watchtowers overlooking the descent toward Tihamah — one of the few mountain forts to retain its original defensive layout.
Old Dhahran Al Janub Town
An old highland town in southern Aseer whose historic market is ringed by traditional alleys and mosques; its weekly market was long known locally for dagger- and sword-making, and its distinctive architecture stands as a documented model of traditional building in southern Aseer.

Al-Habala Hanging Village
A village built by the Qahtan tribe some 400 years ago on the edge of a 300-metre cliff, once reachable only by rope — hence its name. A short cable car now serves it; the original residents were relocated in the 1990s, leaving it a historic site rather than a living village.
