Program overview
A hands-on introduction to photography for anyone curious to explore the fundamentals of using a camera. Over two days, participants will learn the three core elements of exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and discover how they work together to create well-exposed, compelling photographs. Day 1: Takes place in a controlled studio environment, where participants will develop a solid understanding of their camera’s essential settings. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, they will explore aperture, shutter speed, and ISO individually before learning how these settings work together. Day 2: The workshop moves outdoors, giving participants the opportunity to apply these techniques in natural light. Working with different lighting conditions and subjects, they will be able to take their camera out of automatic mode and shoot with confidence. Learning Outcomes: Identify the main parts and controls of the camera and shoot confidently in manual mode.
